If you think KB Pizza is a company that is new to the business, think again. Their knowledge of baking represents three generations of quality Italian baking. It all started in Italy near the turn of the century. Angelo Benvenuti, grandfather to the current brothers that co-own KB Pizza, learned the trade at his home in Verona Italy. He eventually immigrated to the United States to settle in the Pittsburgh area with his family. He continued with his trade and his career in Sharpsburg. He raised his two sons, and taught them how to bake, and they too, would continue the tradition.

Peter and Enrico definitely had baking in their blood. With the teachings of their father, they were able to become great bakers themselves. Of course, as it did to many families, World War II put a halt to any plans. Peter and Enrico, as well as many other great Americans, went to war for their country. When they returned from their military service, they had not forgotten their roots.

Peter and Enrico decided it was time to do something with their skills as bakers. They opened up a bakery with their father in Carnegie, a suburb of Pittsburgh. Benvenuti Bakery opened up its doors in 1947. What followed was more than thirty years of their products and reputation being a household name. They began by selling bread and rolls door-to-door, and ended up making the Benvenuti name one of the most recognized in the area.

And in no way was this family going to stop there. Enrico's three sons, Ray, Ken and Mark, along with long-time family friend Chuck Martino, carry on the Benvenuti tradition and name in baking. Their crust company, KB Pizza, has grown impressively since 1982. In the last 19 years, their quality products made from the freshest ingredients have served to prove that the Benvenuti's still have it when it comes to baking. They take great pride and time to making the finest, handmade product.
